Flock to the rock for Duluth’s annual summer climbing rendezvous at Ely’s Peak, organized by the Duluth Climbers Coalition!
Join us for a day of free climbing, open to all ages and levels of climbing experience (or none at all!). Local climbing organizations will have ropes set, safety equipment is provided, and instructors will be on hand to belay and offer beta (that’s climber slang for advice). For more advanced climbers, there will be plenty of challenges for you to set your own ropes on and local guides to direct you to favorite climbs and boulders.
This is a great opportunity for families (parents must be present to sign waviers for their children). No advance registration required; just show up and enjoy climbing, hiking, and exploring Duluth’s premier warm weather crag!
Directions: Exit I-35 just south of Duluth at Midway Road exit. Travel southeast on Midway/Beck’s Road for just over two miles. Parking area on left just before bridge over railroad track. Easy 1/4 mile hike to crag. Note: this is a wilderness area, no facilities!
