HUGE NEWS: Loll Designs, a Duluth-base manufacturer of modern outdoor furniture,┬áhas awarded the Duluth Climbers Coalition a $20,000 donation toward the creation of Quarry Park! At the same ceremony, Loll announced donations of $20,000 to the Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores (COGGS) and the Duluth Cross-Country Ski Club (DXC). These donations are part of Loll’s commitment to 1% for the Planet, and affirm Loll’s dedication to creating a lasting outdoor legacy in Duluth. Because Quarry Park is one of the St. Louis River Corridor projects, Loll’s donation will be matched with funds from the City’s 1/2 and 1/2 tax, money set aside specifically for this purpose. Ice farming in the quarry has just become $40,000 closer to reality! Thank you Loll Designs for your incredible vision and generosity, and congratulations to the other Duluth outdoor clubs on this huge step forward for the Duluth Traverse cross-city mountain bike trail and the Grand Avenue Nordic Center. Duluth Mayor Emily Larson, also present at the announcement, summed it up perfectly: “Loll is a great example of how a business can have a positive impact on our entire community. When they do well, we do well. I am grateful for their support and applaud their investments to our outdoor experiences.”
